Snow in Georgia

The weekend of Valentine's I went to GA to visit DrF. The best thing about going down south from Boston in Feb- escape the bad weather of course. So you can imagine my surprise at being faced with this. The nice thing about not being home - I wasn't responsible for shoveling! (Course pretty much nobody is, as it all melted by the next afternoon, still I was happy not to be shoveling.)

First image- I was inside the kitchen trying to photograph. Given the light reflecting, I realized that I would have to open the door so the other pictures are much better.

New gutters!

I know, too exciting isn't it? Well, if you knew the leaking problems I had last winter you would better understand my enthusiasm for the new gutters. So I won't keep you in suspense any longer...

The copper just doesn't pop in that one though, does it? So let's try that again.

Beautiful things (<-go on, click it)

I wish that I could make beautiful things. Unfortunately it appears that at this point in my life, the only thing I can do is appreciate the beauty that other people create.
Take a look at the link. Her items are stunning. So stunning, I purchased 2 things.

The ceramic platter and small dish AND a little plate.
Just gorgeous. Now if only my blog was actually viewed by anyone she would get the attention she so obviously deserves.

New job

In December I left my job at the hospital to join a new company. It's very small (only 4 of us) and we're housed in a larger space. First picture is the entrance when you come off the elevator.

Pretty impressive, no? The picture is at night so you can't see that the conference room (through those circle doors) has this gorgeous view across the water towards Boston.

As we go into our actual office space it's not quite as glamorous. If you look to the right- you see our "conference room"

looking to your left you can see my colleague and his constant companion when a deadline is due: Coke (2L to the left, 20 oz. to the right)

And continuing to your left, you see my desk (with the pictures above) and the other 2 desks.
